Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 He seems right in saying that all the sufferings that we have today are due to the cruel action on lal masjid and jamia hafsa. God only knows the truth. This was simply an administrative issue which could have been dealt with more rationally, yet not that cruelly. The media was creating a lot of hype before the incident but it didnt justify such a brutal act of state terrorism. Another example is the hype created about the control of govt in FATA, but it does not mean use of force is a solution there. Shall we assume that force should be used whenever and wherever there is challenge to the control of the state and media creates a hype on that? The answer is no. Its the duty of the media to highlight the issues and responsibility of the govt to address them. It will be much better if such issues are debated in detail in the parliament and a decision is taken after taking all in the so called house in confidence. In this way there will be people behind all the actions that the govt takes. But again the use of force is not the answer. We need to resolve the issues through dialogue. We need a lot to learn as a whole nation. I wish we start thinking about our country and develop a love for it. I wish we start feeling proud as pakistanis. This will happen only when we stand united. I see so many groups, PPP jiyalas, PMLN jyalas, JI jyalas, JUI jyalas, ANP jyalas and PTI fans. Where are the pakistanis. I hope I make a sense. We need Quaid's Pakistan. I want our leaders to say that their role model is Quaid e Azam. I hear them praise their own party leaders. Hardly you see them talking about Quaid and Allama Iqbal. I am not hopeless. Inshallah the time will come when things will change. Its the people and especially the youth who will change the country's destiny. |

Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 I would really doubt that any one will criticize JC cz of his opening remarks where he linked the Jamia Hafsa scenario to the current ongoing problems in Pakistan..... ALAS this is our dilemma and still no one is paying attention to the NeCon's agenda for 2015 which was also recently mentioned by AQK. We deserve all thnis and we are bound to be doomed.... |

Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 I am afraid this "story-telling" method of politics and geopolitics that exists in Pakistan is actually a clever way of hiding facts and making myths. These Jamia Hafsa people would never have had to face any action if they had not picked up guns and committed crimes. JC's "Storybook" way of telling it hides such facts. I do not think "dialogue" and negotiations works with religious extremists as they believe they are on a mission from God and do not care about talks or treaties with mere mortals. |

Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 why do you hate the army for doing their job? The Lal masjid folks chose to stockpile weapons and went to war with the state, they paid the price for that. One should not feel sympathy for criminals or terrorists just because they are now dead. |

Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 In return, they have lost 4 battles and have been our masters for over 30 year. They have divided Pakistan into half already and are about to do the same again. Moreover, all the army presidents pretend to be flag bearers of national security but seldom make policies in the national interest. I do not have sympathies with the Islamic Extremists either. They should be dealt with full conviction and they should not be allowed to push their point of view on anyone else. It is perfectly fine to have such an operation if it is granted by the parliament but a handful of generals should not be allowed to control the fate of our country. |

Re: Kal Tak 04th July 2008 ![]() and why is Ayaz Amin in this program...what he's got to do with Jamia Hafsa...if JC wanted some real answers he must have invited Ejaz-ul-Haq or some leaders who were involved in the peace talks at that time. People have "selective amnesia"....when and why did this miltary operation start? Isn't it when students of Jamia Hafsa beat up and stole guns & radio sets of Rangers posted there. There were videos of these beatings too, GEO showed them repeatedly at that time. Which government tolerates this? Finally, why was Abdul Rashid Ghazi asking for a "safe passage"? What was he afraid of when he considers himself innocent? and where was this safe passage to? |
