News 51 scholarship holders boycott US envoy’s dinner in protest of Nato attack

ISLAMABAD - In a rare display of patriotism, some 51 students who have won scholarships in various universities and colleges in US boycotted the pre-departure dinner hosted in their honour by US Consul General Peshawar in protest of Nato attack on Pakistani Army checkposts.




Sources aware of the development informed TheNation that US Consul General in Peshawar Ms Marie Joan Richards has hosted dinner in honour of some 51 students here on Tuesday who have won scholarships in various universities and colleges in United States as a goodwill gesture primarily to give them briefing about their future stay in United States. But to record their anguish and dismay over the unprovoked Nato attacks on Pak Army check-posts none of the student turned up at dinner resulting in a great embarrassment for the host.
