Re: Capital Talk 25th June 2009

there should be a referendum in bahawalpur for an independent province and if pakistanis of bahawalpur vote for it then bahawalpur should be given a provincial status. similarly if the pakistanis of south punjab vote for a siraiki province then they should be given their rights.
this will certainly trigger a chain reaction and pakistanis of different regions will vote for separate provinces and they should get their rights.
potential other new provinces would be:
1) hazara
2) chitral
3) gilgit
4) south balochistan (probably proper balochistan- linguistically)
5) south sind (karachi & hyderabad)
6) upper sind
7) potohar ( upper punjab)

whatever the new administrative areas are decided, pakistan and pakistanis should be the winners!
pakistan zindabaad!

pakistan is divided enough,we can't unite 4 provinces,
these bastards want to create little kingdoms, ( sorry javed hashmi) another layer of govt, more expense, more leaders,
more wadaras,
i don't know when some one will start talking about united pakistan,

Talking about the division at this point in the name of rights is not patriotic at all. Isnt there enough chaos already? I have no doubt this agenda is being fed by those who are already making things worse and pml q and pp are joining their hands without even thinking. These politicians just want more power for themselves. PPL of south punjab will remain poor as they are now they dont care.

Its not always wise to get emotional on creating new administrative units, lets change the angraiz sarkar policy.pakistan is becoming a failed state because we continued with the angraiz colonial system.atleast now we should start creating a new look of our country.complete overhauling of police, administrative units, justice system, educational system.without getting tense guys.

Re: Capital Talk 25th June 2009

I am from the boondocks of "Rohi" (Cholistan Desert in the local Seraiki language is known as Rohi) but a scumbag like Durrani, with whom I have family relations, is only doing it to stay politically alive. All these years he was su&*^ng Musharraf's D$%^,why didn't he raise his voice then??? Bahawalpur does produce 33% of Pakistan's only cash crop i.e. cotton despite the fact that there is severe shortage of water, the water underneath the ground is too saline. In the last 63 years no development work has been done in the Bahawalpur area.
Javaid Hashmi's arguments regarding people still wanting to come to Pakistan rather than vice versa were so beautiful. If there is a division among provinces based upon sincerity, integrity and with total commitment to the integrity of Pakistan then I'm all for it. If people like Durrani are to lead us Fu&k them. Pakistan comes first.

Very well said@rotomia...
Bhawalpur HAS many problems especially water & poverty.. and this moron Durrani is cashing it for his political survival...
Creating a new province may not be a solution... But its also a fact that leaders of northern Punjab have always being exploiting Bhawalpur mainly due to incompotent regional leaders. Its time that leaders from N. Punjab to stop this & take some remedial measures... first step being giving Bhawalpur its fair share of water.
