What does it mean when the army appears to be the only force able to contain the opponents of democracy? President Musharraf agrees to explore this apparent contradiction at length over dinner at his official residence, the Army House, with filmmakers Sabiha Sumar and Sachithanandam Sathananthan. They film encounters the MMA - an alliance of religious parties - a tribal parliament, truck drivers, young eite party goers, a Sindhi peasant woman and her husband and people on the street. The filmmakers engage them in discussions on President Musharraf and democracy. "Dinner with the President: A Nation's Journey" only partly explores the pressing questions regarding Pakistan's future and the prospect of current unelected President Pervez Musharraf. Flawed but most telling for Western viewers as a specifically Pakistani view of Musharraf's political dilemmas and the nature of his support and opposition Last edited by NoToRi0uS; 06-22-2008 at 05:49 AM.. | |

| Re: Dinner with the President: A Nation's Journey (Documentary - Musharaf) LOL ! Ask this "western breed" to come and interview the poor public today and then try to convince the West to get more money for her NGO activities.... !! Even a clown knows that "Martial Law is not an alternative to Bad Democracy" Zia used Mullahs to support his dictatorship based on ground realities at that time and Musharaff used Kanjars to support his dictatorship based on ground realities at his time end of story ! |

| Re: Dinner with the President: A Nation's Journey (Documentary - Musharaf) @Salmanzafar LOL, very nice post. My only objection is about Sherry Rehman. She is the best minister of the current cabinet. Look how well she is doing her job. Most journalists/anchors appreciate and support her positive role. Therefore she is no "Show peice" and should not be placed along with Kashmala and Sumaira commoner added 9 Minutes and 15 Seconds later... Quote:
I totally agree with your suggestion. I think you are providing valuable service to Pakistani politics and it must be open heartedly appreciated. The most pertinent question is How can more people be attracted to this site . I dont think many people know about your free services especially the political talk shows.
