I hate all such people who are running this country`s political affairs like their family business. We should reject them.

Re: Fatima Bhutto on CNN

It was a good interview. Not a typical Bhutto. I generally found her talking on the current political situation coherent with what most of the people think in terms of the surveys quoted in the talk shows.

So we find out that it is not the Bhutto family but the jiyalas who like to mourn over BB shaheed. Living in dire conditions themselves but always willing to lose their lives for BB who lost her virginity to Zardari and who has already lost respect and is willing to lose whatever is left by bending backwards before his masters. I agree these people and their innocent jiyals are despicable.

Re: Fatima Bhutto on CNN

I like the fact that she was not delievering a lecture on things by their own interpretation of Islam like many enlighted moderate do, instead she was analyzing things in a political manner, which i found really fair and interesting.

She might have to take care of her audience very well whenever she writes. The issue of two women getting married, she might attract some westearn minds but societies like Pakistan, we better watch out to promote such events. There is a difference of personal life.........Such things effects societies, so these are not personal at all and should not be encouraged.

Neverthless, talking about such things, we might not forget the fact that we are muslims and we are answerable of our acts.

Re: Fatima Bhutto on CNN

I agree that she should not have supported the women couple. I hope she would get the guidance from Allah as Imran Khan got over the years. He didn't have a very religious past but clearly now I think he is a good Muslim, and is doing great in saving the image of Islam all over the world.

This is one of the very few interviews of Fatima which I have watched. She is the first Bhutto after ZA Bhutto who seems to have the spark which makes great personalities. I am not a fond of family politics nor I was a fan of Benazir, obviously her two governments were one of the series of worst examples of democracy. However, Fatima, at least in this interview, seems to be very different from the Bhuttos who took advantage of their surnames. I am not sure if my other friends here at the forum can see it, but I can clearly see a storm inside her which is still calm. I hope she can direct this energetic storm in the positive direction.

I want to put some questions here, just for the sake of discussion:

1) What do you think about ZA Bhutto? I personally had some confusions over the past several years. Sometimes I felt he was a great leader, obviously, he was a very good speaker. But the facts in 1971 make him a little suspicious. Our problem is that our historical facts are molded and does not always give the true and whole picture. However, overall I respect ZA Bhutto and I think among the leaders which we had after Jinnah, he was the best. It's only my opinion, and it's open for discussion.

2) Should you think Fatima Bhutto need to step in politics? Not because she is a Bhutto, but because she, at least what she speaks in this interview, is like a young Imran! (Sorry for mentioning Imran again & again since he himself is still struggling in politics, but I don't see any other good, sincere politician today who can be made a role model). Well, you might disagree with me, but I see two most common things in Imran and Fatima which make them as potential leaders of Pakistan:
(a) Both are well educated and have charismatic personalities
(b) Both are sincere in what they are / were doing. Imran at his young age, had never thought of doing politics. But he was forced to do it since he is a person who has the flair of changing things positively. Fatima, again seems to be not interested in politics. Not at least now. But probably she does not have chance yet. God knows...!

Well, sorry for the long post, and sorry for answering myself the questions. I actually wanted to start the discussion with my comments. I would request you to please contribute positively, with strong and factual statements. Both, in favor and against my views are welcome, and I would love to read the criticism of my views. But I hope this discussion will remain positively constructive.

Thanks for taking time to read the post!

Fatima Bhutto might have a political career in Pakistan but she needs to step into it slowly and then build herself up.

Re: Fatima Bhutto on CNN

Fatima has had a disturbed childhood. She was born in Afghanistan during Russian occupation to an Afghan mother whom Murtaza divorced later to marry Ghinwa. Murtaza was killed at the behest of Intelligence agencies to avenge the murder of the Captain of pakistan Army killed during the PIA airplane highjacking in Kabul with the tactical approval of Leghari to destablize and dismiss BB's second govt. Later when Fatima's mother came to take her back she refused and choose to live with Ghinwa.
Fatima was factually wrong when she said that BB's second govt recognized Taliban govt. It was infact Nawaz Sharif who recognized Taliban govt in 1997. BB govt was dismissed in 1996.
Fatima has no political future and she knows that well. Her mom fought elections against PPP with the support of Arbab Rahim and lost.
Murtaza's hero was Che Guevara and Fatima's Hassan Nasrullah, what a shift.
