Re: The world after Bush with Dr. Shahid Masood 27th Sept 08 May be he is preparing for his ruturn to talk shows after PTV, if they fire him Zardari’s messed up speech Monday, September 22, 2008 State TV again embarrasses govt By Mazhar Tufail ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari's address to the grieved nation hours after the deadly blast at the Marriott Islamabad reflected the nation's resolve not to submit to intimidation. Yet the state TV even in this hour of national grief could not display professionalism and caused embarrassment to the president. Two months ago, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani's address was also messed up by the PTV when his live address, first communication with the nation, was interrupted owing to mismanagement and malfunctioning of a tele-prompter. The poor show by the state TV was once again displayed Saturday night when the rehearsal of the president's speech was telecast live at around 2:10 a.m. When the PTV team reached the Aiwan-e-Sadr, it was decided that the president's speech would be recorded rather than broadcast live and clear instructions were issued to the PTV Chairman/MD Dr Shahid Masood to arrange recording equipment accordingly. After approving the draft of the address, the president, as part of the routine exercise, took a few minutes to rehearse the speech. The PTV cameras and recording systems were activated to monitor the rehearsal. However, what was described as a "recording" of the rehearsal turned into actual live broadcast and the state TV telecast the president's rehearsal as a live address and two other private networks also carried out the same feed. Dr Shahid Masood was present at the scene during the entire episode. "The PTV Chairman/MD was clearly directed that the speech would be recorded and the president did not wish a live broadcast," said a source at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. On learning the mismanagement, the president ordered the information minister to initiate an inquiry. The Information Ministry has constituted a team to investigate into the matter. PTV Chairman/MD Dr Shahid Masood, who was to accompany the president on his official trip to New York, has been ordered to stay back in Pakistan. Acting Information Secretary A S Abbasi confirmed that a high-level committee has been constituted to probe the matter. "The committee would submit its report after the president's returns from New York later this week," said Abbasi.

Re: The world after Bush with Dr. Shahid Masood 27th Sept 08 Now adays in the media hardly u will find a true journalist, most of the names like dr. Shahid Masood u hear and watch every day are apportunists and just trying to raise thier market value and getting the offers accordingly, Dr. Shahid Masood has accepted this offer by killing that person who was respected and loved by many Pakistanis, perhaps for him it was not a GHATAY KA SAUDA and it will have very bad implications in the long run for the rest and for the journalism in Pakistan. He has started a race which will attract the most corrupt and apportunist people in the field of journalism

Re: The world after Bush with Dr. Shahid Masood 27th Sept 08 Problem with SM is that he projected himself as a journalist who speaks the truth and will always face any difficulities may it be banning / offair of channels etc in order to unveil the corruptions of the government but he accept his price to keep his mouth shut thats where the problem is- If he would have accepted a better position without compromising his work that would have been OK but he kept his mouth shut and all this went on in the past year - Now I think he is realizing that he is becoming history by not having his face on the media so he started this program but its too little too late- he can continue to collect millions of ruppees but has lost hiscredibility- but I guess who cares in Pakistan as far as credibility goes-

Re: The world after Bush with Dr. Shahid Masood 27th Sept 08 [quote=Hit Man;799560]Yes its Dr. Shahid Masood but from PTV with a new show about American Elections and effects on Pakistan. Hi it is so surprising, but the most impressive in the program is the analyst mr ali imran who seems to be new to this. He has made four, very small comments, all valid, to the point and hitting. Mr Shamshad was also very good but the new one was very impressive

Re: The world after Bush with Dr. Shahid Masood 27th Sept 08 Guys, Tell me this, if he is not earning more than the previous MD, and (my guess is) earning less than what he was at GEO, why are we presuming he sold out? I know I was his fan for a long time, and then hated him for leaving, but now with a cooler head, I suspect that he has been forced this position on a gunpoint to discredit him. I am not sure of anything yet, but I will say that we need to peruse the alternate answers too. BTW Geo spared no effort in painting him as a turncoat, but FACT is GEO used to support mush a lot until when their office was attacked, I have little belief in professional ethics of MKR Foundation too. That leads me to a question: What can we believe anymore? Certainly not Zardari/PPP who begs UN for support as if he is not the president but in Jail, Neither Nawaz Sharif who signed a 10 year agreement and then for a long time denied it, certainly certainly.... (infinite)... certainly not PMLQ responsible for Lal Masjid, nor people like Hasan Nisar who think Pakistan should just accept that we can never have a good system, nor Hamid Mir who thinks Zardari is just a swell guy, certainly not mullahz of Pakistan, certainly not the ISI-based BrassTacks disinformation machine, maybe not IK because of his political inabilities, the list can go on further.... what should I believe? and why? I know I believe few things: there is no God but God, major Islamic philosophies, we NEED a fair and FAST justice system, we need the 100+ families to give up their grip somehow.
