A good focused discussion on real issues. I hope it could help find us some solutions as well.

We are intolerant. Generally our atttitude is to shoot down all those who have even a minute difference of opinion with us. this needs to be changed. The acts of eliminating political opponenents and indiscrimnate use of force after we fail to manage things in a better way is another show of poor governance.

Drone attack kills 12 in SWA
Friday, June 19, 2009

By Irfan Burki

WANA: Twelve persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries when the US spy planes attacked two suspected training centres of a Taliban commander in Sholam and Raghzai areas, eight kilometres west of Rustam Adda in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) on Thursday.

Elders and officials of the political administration told The News the drones fired five missiles at the two compounds of a local Taliban commander Malang Wazir and his men in Sholam and Raghzai areas, killing 12 people and injuring 10 others. The attacks, carried out at about 12 noon, also reduced to ashes the suspected militant training centres.

The 10 injured persons were shifted to a local private hospital, where four of them were stated to be in critical condition. Sources said militant commander Malang Wazir had left the compound some 30 minutes before the drone attack.

Soon after the attack, the militants cordoned off the area and declared the spot a no-go area for the locals. Taliban commander Malang Wazir and his men had closed the Wana-Angoor Adda main road at Sholam area and taken positions at the nearby hilltops a few weeks ago.

Malang had affiliation with pro-government Taliban commander Mullah Nazir. The closure of the Wana-Angoor Adda main road had led to differences between the two. However, Ahmadzai tribal elders had succeeded in getting the road reopened for all kinds of traffic after holding talks with the Malang group two days back. An end to the US drone attacks in Wana was also among the conditions set by the Malang group for his willingness to open the road.

Elders of the area condemned the drone attack, saying the US was not interested in peace in the tribal belt as it had carried out the attack on the two compounds only two days after a deal was inked between the Ahmadzai tribesmen and the Malang group.

There should be a general amnesty from state for all Balochi nationnalists. IF criminals can be forgiven in the name of reconcilitation NRO, then why not those your baloch who got offended due to wrong policies of General Pervez Musharraf. Embrace our people.

its a real conspiracy against Pakistan. We are already short of schools and whatever was available in NWFP has been ruined in these attacks. I think some 300 schools, largely girls, have been blown up.
