Re: Islamabad Tonight 15th June 2009

Pakistan army needs to honestly ensure peace in the country. Real trouble-makers completely wiped out and security of citizens fully ensured.
If common citizens woudl suffer in th ehands of terrorists or are being troubled due to opertaions they would fail to understand the difference.
The problem started by Gen Zia was complicated by Musharraf due to inefficient political institutions. But now we have to be sincere with ourselves to save our own life t o save the future of our children.
    We need peace.

Re: Islamabad Tonight 15th June 2009

Last time I discussed situation of waziristan with a local of that area (1) everyone was suspicious about army, (2) everyone was sure money and weapons coming from Afghans and Indians with the blessings of Amerricans. Now the rol eof army is still not 100 percent clear but doubts have emerged India-US nexus is penetrating deep into Pakistan to create more instability. These Talibans who call themselves committed Muslims should understand that killing their brothers and sisters in Pakistan is not Islam.
Its a real crisis for us and we need some solid decisions to come out of it.
    Good programme and discussion.

Re: Islamabad Tonight 15th June 2009

Why do we tend to live in fog? I admit that there could be various opinions about Talibanisation in Pakistan emerging from different corners with different mind sets. The fact is that these "apne" bloody Talibans are getting advanced weaponary and money from the higher ups. Looking at the bigger picture now, is it not clear enough to say the biggest enemy are Talibans and not apparently America and India just because there isn't a "proven fact" that they are supporting them, but we know that they are. The media people, intellectuals, politicians, analysts and every stakeholder has been writing and categorically saying that we need to build a consensus among the nation about this whole issue. Which means what? What consensus? It means that from the prime minister down to the guy who drives rickshaw, there must be ONE understanding, without any doubts without any grey areas. Which is that militant Talibans need to be hunt down. They are the most serious threat at the moment and regardless of how many cores and brigades we have to move in that area, we should act on that to stop and crush them right there. These Talibans are not "apne" for Allah's sake do not create confusion among us, let us get united on this ONE point that we have absolutely no sympathy for terrorists.
