YOU LIED


You told me you loved me, I was the only one
You couldn’t live without me in your life,
Then I discovered the cheating that went on
You looked me in the eyes and you lied.


You said we were meant for each other
It was me you needed by your side,
Yet you were seen by a friend holding hands with another
You looked me in the eyes and you lied.


You promised to always be there for me
On that I could rely,
But I’m here by myself, forsaken and lonely
You looked me in the eyes and you lied.


You said, “I’ll see you later, Babe” when you left that day
“I’ll be back to pick you up around nine.”
It’s three days later and still I wait
You looked me in the eyes and you lied.


I kept trying to call you on your phone
I was worried, so I swallowed my pride,
I went to your house and found you were not alone
You looked me in the eyes and you lied.


Driving home from your house, I relived the past weeks
My heart was broken, I hysterically cried,
Did you plan to hurt and humiliate me?
Everything you ever said was a lie.


What did you expect when you returned to my door
I’d be forgiving and say it’s all right?
Instead of please leave, don’t come back,
I don’t love you anymore
I looked you in the eyes and I lied.
