Talat and Kashif are equally the best we have. They have complete grip on shows, great knowledge, They put also bold questions. Talat has a little edge on Kashif and that is because he selects less hurting words when he puts questions.

Iftekhar (Jawabdeh) comes with good preparation and we can go through history when we watch his show. Some times he loses his grip on his show.



Hamid Mir is also a bold anchor but he has a big weakness of making every participants happy. I rate him ahead many others because he is well-informed.

Javed Choadhry is one of the best writers or columnists of our all times history but I feel he lacks when he joins in discussion. He never puts new questions just repeat the words of participants as a question. When someone does a counter attack on him he seems to be defenseless. I rate him not in the list of top 5 but surely he is a popular anchor because of his story telling ability and I love to watch this part of his show.

Dr. Shahid: a very confused and mysterious personality. He made himself controversial when he accepted a luxury job from government. I guess people now have less trust in him. I don’t rate him in top five.

Nusrat Javed: He is bold enough to expose those who have hurt him or his feelings. He has vast experience and that is why some times he seems more cool than Mushtaq. I would include him in the 2nd top 5 list.

Mushtaq: Seems to be more patriotic than any others but comes not with full preparations and uses some time not appropriate language. Boldness with sense and wiseness can make him one of the top anchor persons. He has not an extraordinary knowledge. I would like to put him in the 2nd top 5 list.

Kashif at the second position can be explained by that most of his admirers are supporters of PMLN

Javed Ch at third place is depressing and points towards our fascination for story tellers and our predispoition to emotional black mailers

In general those anchors who are preceived pro-PPP are generally disliked despite their intellect and knowledge

Now just a few words about the voters.

I thank "madness" for voting for everbody otherwise someone might have been ended up with no votes :-)

- Talat Hussian - good journalist but asks really confused questions i.e. so diplomatically maneuvered questions that its really easy to manipulate the answer.

- Kashif Abbasi - My favorite anchor person. I do not agree that he supports any particular party. The thing that I really about this guy is his straight forward manner and hard hitting questions unlike the soft "around the issue" approach of Talat. Keeps the program to the focus.

- Javed Chaudhary - Whats wrong with story telling ?? especially if almost all of it is true. After all, even our religion uses examples and incidents from past to teach us lessons. His "stories" as you call them have always an underline theme which aims at simplyfying things for most of the semi-literate people of our country who won't understand the diplomatic and intellectually sophisticated questions of some other anchor persons.

I don't think that the anchor persons have anything against PPP. Its just that they criticise anyone who is not doing what the people want. First it was musharraf and now its PPP. I think these anchor persons are doing their job very professionally.

Guys need a bit of help here. I don't live in Pakistan so I am not able to watch all of these shows regularly. I do download them from the internet and then watch them on my phone/computer.

My question is which show is Abdul Rauf doing?. I am interested to know as he was my English teacher in FSc in FC college back in 1986-88.

I see the name of Naeem Bukhari also. Is he doing any talk show now-a-days?
