[Tutorial] Basics of Friends Korner!!

Here are a few basics of this website..

I will try my level best to cover up everything.. but first i will start with personal things..

On the top of the page u will see this bar.. click "User CP"




User CP:
user control panel is the haven of your personal settings.. whatever u wish to do thats related to your account.. juct click on user cp and change the settings!!


when u click User CP a new page opens in front of u.. in the left corner u will see this bar.. the remaining page shows your reputation remarks

now this bar has all your options in it,, so simply click what u wish to change!!

let me explain this bar to you..







EDIT SIGNATURE:
the first option in this bar is.. EDIT SIGNATURE! just click on this and a page which is the same as the page where we write new threads or replies.. so after clicking EDIT SIGNATURE u should not face any difficulties


EDIT EMAIL & PASSWORD:
the email address that you wrote when u were registering at FK,, to recieve all notifications.. u can change that email address by clicking here and offcourse.. u can change ur password anytime

EDIT PROFILE:
when u click EDIT PROFILE.. a long page opens up in front of u.. the options there are..

EDIT EMAIL & PASSWORD: this is the same thing.. now its upto u if u want to change it hfrom here or from the first method that i mentioned earlier..

DATE OF BIRTH: this option is regarding the privacy level of your age and date of birth.. if u choose "DISPLAY AGE AND DATE OF BIRTH" then u and anyone can see your date of birth in the FK calender.. and if u choose that.. then someone would deffinitely wish you on your birthday it will not show your date of birth in each and every post,, but it will show your age in every post..

CUSTOM USER TITLE: as you can see that beneath my ID there is a phrase written.. well if u want to write something with your ID then here is the place to write it..

HOME PAGE URL: if u have a home page and u wish to share it with everyone then you can write it here.. and it will be displayed on your profile page

INSTANT MESSAGING: if u wish to,, u can write your different IDs in these columns and they will be displayed on your profile page.. and if anyone wants to contact you,, it would be easier for them to contact you

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: now there are a few boxes where you can write a few details about yourself.. and again which will be apart of your profile page!!

EDIT OPTIONS:
these are some of the nesessary settings..



REPUTATION LEVEL: if u tick in this box,, then u will be able to get reputation points form all members of this forum.. and when ever u would visit this page,, it will tell u the number of reputation points,, that u got so far..

ALLOW V CARD DOWNLOAD: if u wish to share your rmail addresses and all your IDs in every post then tick in this box.. and your various IDs will then become a part of all your posts

RECIEVE EMAIL: some times administrators or members of the forum wish to contact you on your emaid addresses.. by ticking these boxes you could enable that facility..

PRIVATE MESSAGING: a faster and easier way to coomunicate privately with all members of this forum.. there are a few options here regarding private messages.. u can set then here..
(i will tell you more about reading and writing private messages but after a while)









VISIBLE POST ELEMENTS: here u can tick in the boxes of things that u wish to see or u dont..

THREAD DISPLAY (OPTIONS): there are a few options regarding thread display,, u can set them as u wish to see them

DATE & TIME OPTIONS: for ur ease,, u can set the date and time here..







FORUM SKIN: some interesting forum skins are also availbale here.. so u can set the way u wish to see this forum.. there are 2 methods of setting these skins.. 1 is that u go to "User CP" clcik "EDIT OPTIONS" and change it OR you have an easier way.. and that is.. that at the bottom left corner of every page.. this option is available.. so u can set the skin when ever u wish to

EDIT AVATARS:
the next option in the "User CP" bar is EDIT AVATAR.. editing your avatar is a simple matter.. clcik edit avatar.. a new page will open in front of u.. you can select an avatar from the variety thats available there.. OR u can upload an avatar from your computer.. OR u can upload the avatar from any other webiste as well






EDIT PROFILE PICTURE:
there's nothing difficult here.. iam sure this image explains itself well and its quite similar to editing AVATAR!!

PLAY GAMES:
Check the top bar,, (see image 1) there is "PLAY GAMES" on that bar click that..



its as easy as 1.2.3. when u would click "PLAY GAMES" this page will open in front of u.. there r thousands of games.. just click on a game.... &.... ENJOY!!

PHOTO GALLERY:
click on "PHOTO GALLERY" in the top bar (see image 1) the main index of the gallery will open in front of u..








its quite simple.. still allow me to explain a few things to u..

MY PHOTOS: this is your personal gallery,, what ever u want to upload which u think doesnt come under any section,, u can upload it here one thing more.. what ever you would upload,, be it in any section.. u can always find it in your "my photos" section so.. easier to search as well

UPLOAD PHOTOS: uploading photos is very easy.. the same method that's used on all sites.. just keep the allowed image types in mind

CATEGORIES: there are a number of categories and u can use those images as well

HOW TO SHARE AN IMAGE IN A POST:
there are 2 methods for that:

1. open 2 windows.. in one window,, Photo Gallery>>> your desired image.. copy the link thats written beneath the image.. (there are 2 links,, 1 for thumb nail size n one for original size) in the other window,, open the post where u want to put the image.. now copy the link (of the size that u want to show in your post) from the photo gallery page and paste it on the post page..

2. open the page where u write ur new posts/ replies.. scroll down and u will see a button for "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" click on that,, a small window will open in front of u.. upload ur image here and this image will become a part of your post.. but there is one thing that when ever some one will see the post,, they will have to click on the image to see the pic as a link will appear in your post!!

PRIVATE MESSAGES:
private messages is a sort of email system on this site.. a sort of quick messaging between its members ONLY!!

READING PRIVATE MESSAGES: reading messages is easy check the top bar,, in the top right corner u will see these deatails:

• Welcome, (your ID) etc etc.. so the last line of these details is "PRIVATE MESSAGES" click on that and your inbox will open in front of u..
• click on "User CP" and in the left side bar u will see messaging options,, click on them
• if u have enabled the Pop-up option then u will recieve a pop-up when ever u will recieve a new mail!!

WRITING PRIVATE MESSAGES: there r many ways for writing these messages as well:

• click on "User CP" and in the left side bar u will see messaging options,, click on them
• check any post of the member to whom u wish to send the message.. click on their name.. some options will drop in front of u.. click send a PM to this member.. and now u write ur message
• go to the profile page of the member to whom u wish to write a private message,, the option of sending a private message is available as well..

HOW TO POST:

1. WRITNG A PRIVATE MESSAGE
2. EDITING SIGNATURE
3. STARTING A NEW THREAD
4. REPLYING IN A POST

for all these options.. this page will open in front of u,, write here and click SUBMIT

REPLY: as for replying,, again you have several options..

• at the bottom of every post,, there is a quick reply box,, just write your replies there,
• at the bottom of the post, there is an option of "NEW REPLY" in the left corner,, click on that n this page will open in front of u..
• if u want to reply to a particular person's post,, then in that reply u will see 4 options.. (thanks,, quote,, multiple quote & quick reply) click on quote.
• if u want to reply to more then 1 post at a time,, simply click on multiple quotes of every rep that u wish to reply.. and click QUOTE on the last post to which u want to reply..

RATINGS:
Ratings play a vital role in every section.. your ratings give encouragement to the members who worked on that thing.. ratings could be given in various areas n let me explain the ways..

1. GAME RATINGS: If u like the game.. RATE IT!! its easy.. when u go to arcade.. every game has the option of ADD TO FAVOURITES,, click on that n there,, on the bottom line u can see the option of rating!! then u can rate that game!!

2. GALLERY RATINGS: The easiest ones when you view an image,, check the bottom of the page and you will find the Ratings options.. PLUS you can also leave your comments for images

3. THREAD RATINGS: when any thread opens in front of u.. at the top of posts.. like just above post #1 u can see a thin bar.. some options r written there..one of them is RATE THREAD.. click on it and then you can rate that thread..

FEW THINGS ABOUT ALL POSTS:



as u can see in this iamge,, that i tried to show you 2 buttons.. well u can use them when ever yu feel the need

REPUTATION BUTTON: The first one is the white & black button,, by clicking on this button,, u can give reputation points and also remarks for that particular member..
suppose.. if u click this button in this post of mine,, a box will appear,, in that box u can give your opinion and hit OK and then that will be apart of my reputations

see these green circles?? these circles show your reputation level..

REPORT POST: the red button beside the reputaion button is for report post! if you dont like or u disagree or u feel that whatever that member wrote is something that you feel the admin team should see and take action,, then hit this button and the admin team will look in the matter

THANKS: this button can be seen on the bottom of every post of every member.. if u click on this,, that means that u agree with this member and u want to thank this member for this reply/post



i feel that i have shared the techniques of all the basics now.. still if you feel that something is missing,, then plz feel free to ask and i will write abt that as well
