As per laid down procedure of Games ruling Body, the ICC , only one representative of any country can attend such meetings and since the Federal Minister is heading the Board under a stop-gap arrangement he will be representing Pakistan in the two-day meeting being held on October 14-15, said Shafqat Naghmi,Chief Operating Officer, PCB while talking to APP here on Saturday. The minister has all the powers of the Chairman of the PCB, there will be no one from the Board to accompany him in the meeting and as per rules and regulations of ICC only one representative can attend the meeting,he said. Cricket circles have questioned the technical know-how of Najam ud Din on cricket matters and have expressed doubts that he is not the ideal man to attend the meeting in the given circumstances when Pakistan needs strong lobbying at international level to have the support of Games Ruling Body to persuade its affiliated member countries to convince them to have shift cricket events with Pakistan who has been deprived of test and one day cricket due to cancellation or postponement of cricket series including elite champions trophy due to security concerns. PCB official said Board is trying its best to have ideal working relation with Sports Ministry and they are following the orders of the Ministry in running the affairs of the Board. He said a special committee has been formed to make amendments in PCB constitution and to look into other allied matters and PCB has no information regarding the date of meeting of the committee. Naghmi said the West Indies women cricket team tour has been cancelled due to security situation in Pakistan and the West Indian Board has informed them officially in this regard.
