Mazda has just unveiled the Mazda BT-50 Freestyle Cab



The new model showcases a reverse-swinging rear door layout for added practicality, offering a 1408mm-wide opening. So it presents the tray space of an extra cab and the versatility of a four-door. The design also features a non-existent B-pillar layout.
Mazda says the new model will offer improved comfort for rear-seat passengers thanks to longer rear seats (by 50mm), which give greater thigh support, as well as higher seat-backs (by 128mm) compared with the conventional extra-cab design.
On top of this, the rear seats can be removed altogether, allowing an almost 90-degree opening panel under the seats for extra interior storage space. The rear tray is also larger than the existing range, offering an overall volume of 1453 litres (up from 1187 litres), thanks to a deeper, longer and wider tub.

The Mazda BT-50 ute series will go on sale in Australia towards the end of this year.
