Latency, is in my opinion one of the biggest hurdles of cloud computing! other services are already there like data storage and even on demand virus and trojan scanning and removal.
The sound vibrations remain even million years after their production.
You can also see what happened a million year back on earth if you were in another planet/system where you are present somehow(nearly impossible as you can reach speed of light that also with conditions like mass will be infinity but greater than speed of light I don't think) and are able to see earth(from millions of light years away).

HAHAHA ... having worked in Mobile Phone industry for 5+ years and having worked with software for about a decade ... I wont say I feel like committing suicide but surely the conviction with which this dude is cracking technical jokes is very amusing ... what is even funnier is that most people in south asia would actually believe him

This is precisely the kind of conviction showed by our Molvis and religious scholars and ignorant masses buy it. If people start using internet for things other than porn/chat/facebook they would be overwhelmed with the information that is available. I almost helped by doctor a couple of times in diagnosing some medical problems only because I researched it all thoroughly on internet. It actually scares me a bit because as a professional one has to be on one's toes all the times otherwise a teenager could challenge your knowledge of a subject very easily and all your decades of experience on a subject would appear laughable if you aint uptodate.

I agree with you, there are credible and fabricated informations available, we must double check before we absorb such knowledge,do research and ask questions to learnt one

I think he is right. I never seen a google CD so how can I save my Post on FK. Sometimes I noticed that my messages disappear when sky is clear and there are no clouds. Sometimes I see that my posts change by itself and many people say me BURA BHALA when it is raining heavily.

But I am thinking that why we use Routers, Switches, T1 line, modems etc when we connect to cloud. I will ask him.

please do not make fun of me I am serious.

Re: Amazingly fascinating and mind-blowing new technologies; U have never heard of!

hahaha who ever have posted this thread ... let me tell u one thing .. this Sir Vishwa "Budhu" seems to b F.... ing idiot + plus illiterate about technology ... i live in london and i knw that here they ask about mobile recycling but the reason he is giving is totally different .. they recycle the material of mobile to use it in new mobiles ... can i ask him one question even in the extreme situation lets assume that sim data is transferred to battery ... but why anybody will be interested in the sim data ? all sim data is already stored on the mobile phone companies server ... even pakistan ufone provide u option to store u contacts information on ufone server to retrive later .. every call we make mobile phone companies keep the record of each and every call data for a certain time to be retrived later ....

if i am not wrong he is talking about the cloud computing in the sense of indian unique ID card scheme ... but here they should learn lesson from NADRA pakistan ... Pakistan started this unique ID card in 2001 a decade b4 india .. and this technology is now very mature in Pakistan ... Pakistan till now didnt used cloud computing because we knw that we dont have that infrastructure to support cloud ... but from the end of this year NADRA is going totally online and now they dnt need softwares to be installed locally but eeverything will be done on servers based in Islamabad .. so he is right that india shoudnt start this project with cloud computing but should start it as offline data capturing and than slowly moving towards cloud it will take dem 3-4 years to have a good network to support cloud ...

and let me also comment on his very first remarks abt meeting room 1 .... the technology he is talking abt is a decade old may b his classic brain got to knw it now ... so guys who dont know about I.T just be a proud pakistani ... action speaks louder then words ... and we have our own unique id card system which is largest in the world at the moment..

mere bhai thats all about routers ... friendkorner is a website not software and website is made using server side programming like ASP JSP and PHP so all the processing is done at server we only get results in the form of HTML page ...

to make u understand u know about main frame computers? they very first computer where we had a big main frame in a room with loads of disc less stations to give instructions to main frame .. so think of cloud computing and main frame and discless stations .. our laptops desktops are used as discless stations which just take instructions and those instructions are processed by very powerful severs and we get the results so its same as main frame technology but we use it over internet because now a days we have more bandwidth available ..

Another way of arranging the servers and calling it Cloud computing. It is not in the Rain producing Clouds you may have imagined.

    Confused about Cloud? Not anymore

Watch this new episode of Technology in 60 seconds about Cloud Computing

Cloud computing refers to public or private services, offered either over the Internet, or over secure network connections. Resources, software and applications are provided by shared servers all over the world, collectively referred to as the “cloud”, rather than by local devices.
So what makes cloud computing different?
Firstly, it is fully managed: the service you use is provided and managed on your behalf. You don’t have to worry about buying licenses, or backing up the files you create. Your cloud services provider does all that for you. It is also on demand, generally bought on a “pay-as-you go” basis.
Most of us use cloud computing every day without realizing it. We used to only send and receive emails using a program running on our PC. Now, emails can be stored and processed through a server, easily accessible from a Web browser, wherever we happen to be. This is a cloud computing service.
You can also access and use applications “in the cloud”, with your information stored remotely. These provide reliable and agile services, at a lower cost and a lower level of risk.
Find out more, or book a visit in our showcase in London or our mobile showcase to see, through live demonstrations, various types and benefits of cloud computing.

Re: Amazingly fascinating and mind-blowing new technologies; U have never heard of!

What a dickhead. Cloud computing is nothing new, it is just the extension of Citrix or Thin client which had been around for over a decade. The concept is the same, instead of having the localised infrastructure and hardware, you get access to the resources from remote servers and storage devices, like plucking it from the clouds.

Virtualisation works on same principle instead of actual hardware, you virtualise different programs, services, operating system on your computer, without having the need to have either the actual hardware at your location or the operating system.

But it does not mean it does not exists, you still have to have virtual servers located somewhere. It is particularly effective for smaller to medium firms, they can assign different server roles to a single server using virtualisation. But there are some cons as well, so it is a delicate balancing act. Costs are still involved but slightly lower.
