I don't know why some ppl are not trying to understand

This whole discussion was about a political jalsa, i would rather preffer to go to Mehfil-e-naat because i want to be in proper wudhu when i listen to naats.
In political rallys and political gathering while someone is reciting Quran and/or naats ppl keep talking to each other, so i would rather say it was a correct decision.
They should start by Tilawat e Quran followed by Naat and then the rest of jalsa should be according to its planning.

Agree he has double duty and should be careful with words, even in private discussion but some ppl are trying to make an issue of it.

TO The Best of my knowledge what we know as naats or nasheeds today was not at all practiced in the times of Messanger of Allah (pbuh), nor in the times of the early generations of muslims after the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

If one wishes to say phrases in the praise of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) then the absolute best thing to do is recite the 'Durood' upon Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) .

But Still I'd say, Being a Leader u shud be More 'Cautious' before giving these kind of (sensitive) statements.

P.S : I am not an Expert on Islamic issues, Correct me If I ve said anything Wrong.

Please correct urself with the fact that naats/nasheeds are not new to islam, sahabah karam (RA) used to praise Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in front of him. The very famous one is Hazrat Hasaaan Bin Sabit (RA) who used to do poetry for Rasolullah (SAW).
Despite all these ALLAH has praised Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Quran on many places by calling Him (SAW) with different beautiful names, so it is nothing new but some don't understand.

I respect your views regarding Naats, Although I dont agree , Bcoz Can't find any authentic hadees supporting to it unless u can provide.
but yess, Sahabas used to call him with Good names like 'Saadiq and 'Ameen'. but thats another thing.

Re: Naats in Public Will Bore the Public- Imran Khan

They report that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah, the daughters of al-Najjaar came out with daffs (hand-drums) and sang “Tala’a al-Badru ‘alayna min thaniyyat al-Widaa”, and the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to them, “Shake your tambourines, may Allaah bless you.” The hadeeth about women beating the daff on joyous occasions is saheeh, and this was done at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but it is not known that he said, “Shake your tambourines.”

    طلع البدر علينا
    ṭala‘a 'l-badru ‘alaynā
Oh the white moon rose over us
    من ثنيات الوداع
    min thaniyyāti 'l-wadā‘
    From the valley of al-Wadā‘
    وجب الشكر علينا
    wajaba 'l-shukru ‘alaynā
And we owe it to show gratefulness
    ما دعى لله داع
    mā da‘ā li-l-lāhi dā‘
Where the call is to Allah.
    أيها المبعوث فينا
    ’ayyuha 'l-mab‘ūthu fīnā
Oh you who were raised among us
    جئت بالأمر المطاع
    ji’ta bi-l-’amri 'l-muṭā‘
Coming with a word to be obeyed
    جئت شرفت المدينة
    ji’ta sharrafta 'l-madīnah
You have brought to this city nobleness
    مرحبا يا خير داع
    marḥaban yā khayra dā‘
Welcome best caller to God's way

Those who said that naat reciting is not islamic or it didn't happen during the days of Prophet Muhammad saww, my reply to them is to start reading Quran and Hadees books with translation. For Islamic evidence of praising Him saww challenge me wrong. Go ahead what are you waiting for ??????????????????
