    PTI Defections to PML-Q continue

    * Members frustrated over being ignored, Imran’s bias in adding people

    By Nasir Butt

LAHORE: More defections from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are likely in the coming days, as many members are set to rejoin Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) after observing a dark political future in Imran Khan’s squad.

These members have been waiting to part ways with PTI in utter desperation and frustration after being ignored time and again by the party chief and due to his preference for ‘recommended’ personalities from certain quarters.

Moreover, after getting a cold shoulder from PTI decision makers regarding distribution of tickets in the next general election, these members have decided to go back to PML-Q.

The PML-Q sources told Daily Times that after a result of party leadership to persuade old allies in the party, former federal minister Chaudhry Noraiz Shakoor and former Sahiwal nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz were going to re-enter party folds within the next few weeks.

According to a political figure close to the PML-Q leaders, the two PTI members conveyed to the PML-Q top leadership that they were not comfortable with PTI and were willing to return to the party provided they were given tickets and an assurance that PPP would also accept them as ‘joint candidates’. After the departure of former MNA Shahid Manzoor Gill, former MPA Javed Manzoor Gill, former tehsil nazim Tahir Manzoor Gill and Bashir Manzoor Gill from Nankana Sahib and Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti in the first week of September, Imran Khan has taken serious notice of the rift within his party and tasked Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Javaid Hashmi to find out the reasons behind the large-scale defections.

PML-Q has already accelerated its push to bring back defectors into its fold and has put in place an elaborate categorisation process for the repatriation, the PML-Q sources said, adding that no conditions had been imposed for the repatriation of the disgruntles.

If these so called politicians really want to leave PTI on the basis of Principles then they should be joining the PMLN and not PMLQ/PPP. It means corruption is at its peak. Qomi Khazanay ka istamal ho raha ha.

I think to defeat zardari tola both PTI and PMLN need to take out the policy of allegations against each other. Both have to take out their respective "KEERAS" from their minds. Politics is not a small kids fight but a game of Mature persons.
If PTI and PMLN both donot get togather or at least both donot stop fighting each other (or seat adjustments) then their divided votes will ONLY help zardari tola especially in close contests.

As I see it, it is PTI who has shown immaturity. Many people from PMLn openly stated in public media that they'd wished PTI worked with PMLn. But PTI and their leader continue to falsely accuse PMLN for the dismal economic and law and order environment of the country of which PMLn aren't responsible.

If you look at the political landscape, PMLN is the only political party in the country who has fulfilled its political campaign promise. In 2008, they ran on one point agenda of restoration of supreme court. Despite all their shortcomings, they fulfilled their promise and have become rarity in Pakistani politics.
